For the second time Phish has created a whole album of live music for a Halloween stunt and like 2014 it’s kooky, bizarre and brilliant. Warning, these songs will be stuck in your head for WEEKS :D

Phish is one of the worst bands ive ever heard, It's a shame these talented musicians cant make a song worth listening to. Just a fake Grateful Dead

Simple: 4 dudes, 30+ years deep in their musical identity, set out to cast themselves as a handful of Scandinavian gents, circa early 80's. Those eighties, as experienced here, were happier times, wistful and accidently profound. Those lucky folk of the vast white sub-horizon landscape, grew up listening to Amon Duul II, Velvet Underground, & knew Eno before and during his shenanigans w/ Bynre and gang; they were hearing the cynicism but underlying hopfulness of bands like The Police. This album is not just an awesome listen, it's a lesson in empathy: We've seen crooners take on classics, Buble covers Sinatra, fine, Childish Gambino filtered the spirit of Funkadelic, but this here is an actual "period piece". Beautiful, amazing, and exactly the Phish album I would bust out to showcase to someone I met in some spazed out time warp. An awesome and authentically joyous album. Go there!

The hag for this costume (aka concept album) is a modern day throwback to Orson Welles’ War of the Worlds radio show hoax. The music is great, there are sweet pop hooks in every song, epic metal riffs abound, and who doesn’t love the lyric ‘this is what space smells like’?

This approaches Rift conceptually, is funky like Ghost and catchy like Hoist. An incredible set of music by Anastasio/Fishman/Gordon/McConnell. Ear candy, beautifully written and performed. Another concept album masterpiece.
