Music ok. The singer does his best CR impression but nothing beats the real thing. Do yourself a favor and listen to the CRB. One of the best bands out there. Chris, Neal, and Adam can play circles around these guys.

Roots are bare. Soul is revealed.

Great renaissance renewal for many of the greatest soul rockers of the 90’s. Glad Rich is able to thrive again; surrounded by the innumerable talents of Ford and company. So grateful for this record. Feels timeless and immediately relevant.
Don’t expect it to sound like The Black Crowes

Rich, Marc, John, and co. push the boundaries with imaginative songwriting. The result is an album that feels familiar and unfamiliar in equal parts. Many of the songs on this album have a powerful mystique and still manage to feel organic and real. There’s not a bad song on the album and my personal favorites are High Water, For The Wind, Colorblind, Take It All, Can You See, and Open Up.
Mary The Gypsy is a fantastic opener and screams Draw The Line era Aerosmith.
High Water creates a mystical blend of acoustic guitars and harmonies that border on entrancing.
Send Me An Omen is the most “Crowesy” song on the album and is even better live.
For The Wind...I absolutely adore the quiet acoustic verses bookended by some of Rich’s heaviest riffage...ever.
Sister Moon...another one that can only be described as mystical, as if Pink Floyd married Nicks era Fleetwood Mac.
Colorblind is a beautiful song lyrically and musically (and a killer outro solo by Rich, albeit short) and comes at a perfect time...it could be my favorite on the album, however the next song will have something to say about that.
Take It All - wow. This song has all the swagger of SHMC era Crowes but with admittedly better slide work than we would’ve had in those years...think One Cop Story.
Walk On Water... Marc and John share lead vox on this one. This one, to my ear has a strong Aerosmith vibe also (especially live).
Hand In Hand - think Downtown Money Waster but better... John channels his inner Rod Stewart on this one and it works perfectly.
You Found Me, my least favorite here. I think it goes on too long and doesn’t really build...it just meanders...it’s not a bad song and has some beautiful moments, just not for me.
Can You See features Rich on lead vox and has a very Stonesy swagger...great lyrics here too.
Open Up is a perfect album closer and leaves you wanting more. A slow intense groove gives way to a transcendental chorus and leaves you wishing 2019 wasn’t so far away.
Overall - 95/100. The album had to grow on my a bit, and first listen it was probably around 80-85. I appreciate that this band stepped outside the box and while not everyone will like that, there’s something to be said about artists pushing themselves 30 years into their careers and make it work.
An Absolute Masterpiece!

Loaded with good songs

Title of this review is "Loaded with good songs". Why? Because saying "Has SOME good songs" would sell it WAY short. To say "Loaded with GREAT songs" would be overselling it. Accurate description is "LOADED with GOOD songs". In my heart, I miss the other Robinson brother, but my ears are thrilled to hear the magic chemistry of the two GUITAR BROTHERS (Marc & Rich)! Unbelieveble that they wrote & recorder twice as many solid songs (but are holding back the second half for a future release). Very impressive!

I hear a mix of Black Stone Cherry and The Black Crowes.

Forget the past incarnations of each member of this band and just enjoy this wonderful music these guys created....well written music and they have a great sound. I don’t think there’s anything out there lately this pure to listen to. Thank you Magpie❣️

I stopped listening to the Crowes due to the elder Robinson, and just happened to stumble across this band. They sound fantastic. The song has a lot of soul and grittiness like the Black Crowes used to have. Looking forward to buying this album!
