Worth the Wait!
44 / 5
As probably one of the first people to hear the whole album (at 10:00 on May 17th) and probably the first person to review the whole thing on iTunes, I have to say, I'm impressed. I would give this 4.5 stars if I could. Five Finger Death Punch has delivered a solid album that lives up to their reputation. Like always they've delivered some amazing ballads (I Refuse, When The Seasons Change, Will The Sun Ever Rise). Although it gets four stars because, while it's a great album, it's not as original as some of their previous releases. And a lot of the tracks remind me of something that they've already made (Sham Pain to Mama Said Knock You Out, Fake to Burn MF, Bloody to Cold and The Bleeding, It Doesn't Matter to The Way of the Fist, etc.) but overall, there is nothing to complain about. The Cover of The Offspring's "Gone Away" was debatably better than the original, and the cover of Kenny Wayne Shepherd's Blue on Black came out pretty good too, they usually deliver pretty well in the way of covers. I kind of wish that they had covered Metallica's "Bad Seed" but what came out, while not that, is still really good. Let's just be honest, we're never getting the Way of the Fist, War is the Answer era Five Finger Death Punch back, but that doesn't mean this isn't good. Althoug I do wish From Out of Nowhere, Undone, A New Level, and Succubus/Hate Me were a little easier to find, on iTunes perhaps *cough cough*. I'm a little suspicious of the album cover and some of the songs (Fake, It Doesn't Matter) being anti-Trump, which is fine, but you could lose some business from some people like me by doing that, overall, the Deluxe edition is way better unless you want to pinch every penny, in which case, why are you on iTunes at all? Go pirate some songs. I have only one complaint about the album cover, those ribs are some Fake motherf*ckers.
