This must be the first time Mr. Porter's music has received mixed reviews. It's not surprising--this is neither a jazz album nor an R&B/jazz crossover album, and it's nothing like his previous work. If you can get past that, you still have to listen to these songs and not hear Nat King Cole. If you still hear the originals, you won't be able to appreciate these new arrangements. And if you get past that, you'll start enjoying the songs and the personal nature of this tribute. In other words, play it a few times before deciding how much you like (or dislike) this compilation. I agree with some of the other reviewers that the orchestral work is a bit fluffy (doesn't really swing), but overall the songs are very pleasantly done, and this will sell well going into the holidays. I think it's great; I think everything he touches is great....

Who in the world thought it would be a good idea to overwhelm this man's beautiful voice with mediocre and entirely overbearing orchestral playing on half the songs? Helloooooo? We are fans of Gregory Porter's voice. Definitely will be purchasing just one or two songs from this one. GP, don't ever let them do this to you again.

Always good to have an album like this by your favorite artist in your collection. There are many artist to redo Arthur Prysock, Billy Eckstine, Al Jarreau to name a few. But Gregory doesn't need to do a whole album though. But I am looking forward to him continuing to doing this.

Big admirer of GP, have purchased all of his other recording, and think he is the best jazz voice currently. I am not, however, a fan of gooey strings or brash orchestral arrangements, though GP's voice still manages to cut through that muck and soothe in some places on these recordings. I will buy selectively from this collection. L-O-V-E is beautiful, Smile is okay; Quizás, Quizás, Quizás? Quizás no.

Listening to the song Smile and hearing Gregory Porter's voice singing this great Nat King Cole classic brings a smile to not only my face, but to my heart.
